Welcome to the Record shop

Based in Cheltenham Spa, we offer Specialist vinyl, both new and 2nd hand, for sale and exchange. The Record shop is modelled on the classic Portabello Road - Notting Hill vinyl collectors dream retail outlet.

A mixture of cheap and cheerful records (from 10p upwards) to quality imported items personally collected, on quarterly basis, from New York, Philadelphia and Jamaica.

Records are sourced in the UK from Old Spitalfields Market, Notting Hill and other shops. The owner's specialist interest in 78's, Punk and reggae keeps the conversation lively and up tempo, whilst the Northern Soul selection (sourced by Soul Incorporated's Des Parker, an importer of vinyl from USA) is probably the best in the three counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Well situated on a roundabout, which is the main entrance to Cheltenham from the M5 (Junction 11A), the shop lies between two public houses, the Norwood Arms and the Brown Jug. It is a pleasant environment for the whole family experience in one of the Country's most special of spa towns.

New Releases on vinyl

We are pleased to announce some exciting news on our stocking new releases on vinyl. After negotiations we have now be able to line up many record labels to supply us with new vinyl. This has been separate to our record store day initiatives.

Forthcoming vinyl new releases include Savages, Black Star Riders and Primal Scream.

Radio Winchcombe 107.1FM

From 1st May we are getting involved with a new radio initative at Radio Winchcombe. On alternate 2 weekly programmes we shall be show presenters:

  • Unsigned Sessions - intention to provide stimulating music from unsigned artists both local and national - in many ways linking with our impressive monthly live acts at Playhouse Theatre - including studio, live and demo recordings. We are very excited about one festival in particular the 'Barn on the Farm Festival' where we shall be running the artists merchandising stall.
  • Monthly GIG Guide - looking forward to main gigs in the Cheltenham and Gloucester area - including standard venues as well as active involvement in seasonal music festivals for performer interviews
  • Blog projects on DJ Wolfman Jack and Art School artists are also on their way.
  • The team for radio is photographer Louis Gill, gig professional Kevin Tanswell and boring old Martyn
  • We will be playing 107.1 in our shop from time to time - our aim is to get the Bath Road converted!!
